WHAT’S INCLUDED
An understandable foundation to build on
The ZIP includes the calendar source, local Python server, database logic, translations, form builder, Electron desktop wrapper and instructions in Swedish and English. It contains no customer databases, private accounts, API keys or hosting credentials.
Start with the local edition and customise colours, content, services and fields. This is a codebase for local development and extension, not a ready-made WordPress plugin or hosted cloud service.
The technology behind the appointments
Python · SQLite
Python 3.11 or later with SQLite through the standard library. The tzdata package supplies time-zone data. The database is created at first start; BOOKING_DB can set its location.
HTTP · JSON
The interface calls a local HTTP/JSON backend. The source shows how services, staff, availability, bookings and forms are handled. Authenticated write requests use session checks and CSRF protection.
Electron · Desktop
The desktop wrapper hosts the web interface and starts the bundled local server. Windows x64 build files and Mac packaging scripts are included. The desktop build uses Node.js 24 and pnpm.
WHICH WEBSITES?
The frontend and backend have different jobs
You can use the design and client code as a starting point in a web project. Booking data still needs a working backend. Copying HTML files to hosting does not create a functioning booking service.

From local code to an online application
The bundled server listens on 127.0.0.1 and is intended for local use. Before internet deployment, a developer must provide a production server arrangement, HTTPS, permissions, monitoring, backups and recovery.
Real email, SMS, payments, cloud synchronisation and individual staff sign-ins need separate implementation and connections. Local message drafts are not an email service. The handbook distinguishes existing capabilities from further development work.
Start locally, with a clear path
Prepare the environment
Unzip the package, create a Python environment and install booking/requirements.txt. Node is not required to run the booking server itself.

Customise the workspace
Open the local address in a browser and create your own local account. Add the business, services, staff and forms. This local account is separate from the WEBBPRO membership used to download the package.
